History made. R&B singer Tank has officially set a new record, earning his 12th career No. 1 on Billboard's Adult R&B Airplay chart with his single "Yes." The record-breaking achievement moves him past Charlie Wilson for the most No. 1 hits among male artists in the chart's history.
The accomplishment is a rare double. "Yes" not only leads Billboard's Adult R&B Airplay chart but also sits at No. 1 on Mediabase's Adult R&B Airplay chart, giving Tank command of both major adult R&B radio measurements at the same time. Only one artist remains ahead of him in the all-time standings: Alicia Keys, who owns 14 chart-toppers.
"Yes" is built on a familiar foundation. The single interpolates Floetry's beloved song "Say Yes," nodding to the early-2000s neo-soul classic while giving it a fresh spin for today's R&B audience. It serves as the latest single from Tank's new album EXPERIENCE, available now through R&B Money/BMG.
The milestone caps a landmark year for the singer. Tank previously secured his 11th No. 1 earlier this year with "Control," and his 2026 run has stretched well beyond the charts. He has had a viral Verzuz moment, made his Broadway debut in Alicia Keys' Hell's Kitchen, and starred on television — a reminder that his artistry keeps expanding into new spaces.
For an artist who has spent decades delivering slow jams and quiet-storm staples, this 12th No. 1 is more than another plaque on the wall. It cements Tank's standing as one of the most successful male artists in the history of the Adult R&B Airplay chart, with only Alicia Keys still ahead of him. Congratulations to Tank on making history.
From his early run of hits to his current reign, Tank's career has been defined by staying power. In an era when radio turnover is faster than ever, his ability to return to the top of the chart again and again speaks to a catalog and a voice that listeners keep coming back to.
